Build a clothing system
The published trekking lists include synthetic base layers, trekking clothing, fleece insulation, an insulated jacket, a waterproof hooded shell, and rain pants. Add a warm hat, sun hat, light gloves, and warmer gloves appropriate to the destination.
Ask what warmth and weather protection your actual itinerary requires. Do not buy a specific sleeping-bag rating or specialist clothing solely from a general list.
Clarify what you carry
GoTrek's supported trekking descriptions distinguish a personal day pack from main baggage carried by support staff or transport. Confirm the arrangement for your exact route, what you need with you during the day, and any bag or flight limits.
The equipment lists include a day pack, duffel bags, waterproof stuff sacks, water bottles, and adjustable trekking poles. Try your day pack with the clothing and essentials you expect to carry before departing.
Check overnight and daily essentials
Bring the agreed sleeping equipment, a headlamp with spare batteries, travel documents, and personal items appropriate to the trip. A lodge-based route and a tented program may need different sleep systems.
Discuss personal medications privately with a qualified clinician and GoTrek when appropriate. The public inquiry form is for general trip planning, rather than medical or passport information.
Review before you buy
Separate personal equipment from group equipment supplied by the operator. Ask about any rental options and baggage restrictions before purchasing. Northwest Mountain Shop is connected to Craig's mountain work and can be a useful place to discuss equipment, but availability and suitability should be confirmed directly.
