The journey
Everest Base Camp
Follow in the footsteps of mountaineering legends on a cultural and spiritual journey through Nepal's Solu Khumbu to Mount Everest Base Camp. Villages, monasteries, hanging glaciers, and the great Himalayan peaks define each day on the trail.
Craig has traveled and guided in Nepal for decades and speaks Nepali. Veteran porters or yaks carry the main equipment, while guests carry a light day pack. The trek requires no technical mountaineering experience and follows a deliberate acclimatization schedule.
A non-technical ascent of Kala Patthar offers a sweeping view of Everest and Lhotse. A separate Island Peak extension is available for guests with basic mountaineering experience.
Culture & setting
The trip begins and ends in Kathmandu and passes through Sherpa villages, homes, markets, and monasteries within Sagarmatha National Park.
